FAQs
Employers
Q: Why should I use your service instead of filling the position on my own?
A: We pride ourselves on the quality of our employees and feel our greatest resource is our past, present, and future employees. The screening process for our applicants allows us to best match their skills and training to the positions.
By using the temp-to-hire program with Knoxville Staffing, the hiring risk is out of your hands. If you are not satisfied with an employee, we can replace them, and you have not made the investment of hiring them on your payroll. We cover workers’ compensation and unemployment costs as well as taking away the stress of recruiting and sorting through applicants for the ones who are qualified. Knoxville Staffing invests in our own employees by providing training for all of our office staff. We can be a resource to you when questions arise about staffing and employment.
Q: Why should I choose a local company instead of calling a national firm?
A: Large national firms simply do not have the deep community ties or long-term experience that we have. We are dedicated to providing high-quality staffing solutions. We take pride in being a local staffing firm with an in-depth knowledge of the Knoxville area.
Q: What services does Knoxville Staffing offer?
A: Knoxville Staffing offers a comprehensive range of flexible staffing and placement options to help our clients maximize productivity while controlling cost, including temporary employment, temp-to-hire positions, direct hire placements, and payroll services.
Q: How much notice do you need to fill an order for a temporary employee?
A: At Knoxville Staffing, we can fill a same-day order in less than an hour. Temp-to-hire and direct hire positions require a more extensive search and the length of time will vary based on the specific requirements of the position. We will always keep you posted on the status of the order.
Q: How much will it cost my company?
A: The cost to you will vary based on several factors, including account volume, workers’ comp costs, and lead time for our managers. Knoxville Staffing is committed to providing quality employees to your company at a competitive price.
Q: What does your bill rate include?
A: The hourly bill rate includes the employee’s wage and all employer costs, including state and federal taxes, social security, Medicare, state and federal unemployment, and workers’ compensation. If you choose our direct hire option, you pay the employee directly and pay Knoxville Staffing a one-time fee.
Q: Do you reference check your employees?
A: Knoxville Staffing checks references on every employee before they begin work at your client job site.
Job Seekers
Q: What type of companies use Knoxville Staffing?
A: Knoxville Staffing works with companies of all sizes, from small independent businesses to large national corporations. We cover a wide range of industries and positions.
Q: Will my skills be tested?
A: To ensure you are the right candidate for the demands of a specific job, we may assess your skills and characteristics in order to place you in an environment where you can succeed.
Q: How soon can I start working?
A: Job availability changes on a daily basis. Once our application is complete, you will be considered based on your preferences and your skills and will be offered appropriate positions.
Q: How often should I contact your office after an interview?
A: Knoxville Staffing has a check-in line which applicants are encouraged to use to maintain availability. You will be asked to leave your name, phone number, and what type of work you are interested in. We encourage you to contact us daily so we are aware of your availability.
Q: What do I pay for your services?
A: As an applicant or employee of Knoxville Staffing, you will not pay for any of the services we provide. If a staffing agency does charge you a fee to use its services, be on guard. It could be a scam. Make sure you investigate the agency before committing—or just use another service.
Q: How can I stay informed about open positions?
A: Some of our positions will be posted on our website. We also maintain a “hot job” line with a listing of positions we are currently filling. These two locations will list a portion of the jobs we have open but are not a complete listing.
Q: What if I am on an assignment and decide that it is not for me?
A: If you are on an assignment and find it is not going to work for you, or if any problems arise on the job, we will ask that you contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay at an assignment long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will attempt to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
